Eligible employees who participate in the Washington State University Retirement Plan have only a few more days to apply for the Voluntary Early Retirement Incentive.

The deadline to apply for the incentive is July 3. Information on how to apply, as well as answers to frequently asked questions, are available on Human Resource Services’ website.

Employees who’ve participate in WSURP for at least a decade and are at least 55 years old are eligible for the incentive program. The university is offering one-time payments equal to one week of annual base salary per year of retirement-eligible service, up to 20 weeks, less legally requested dedications.

Once the applications window is closed, HRS will review the applications and notify employees who are accepted. Those employees whose applications are accepted will be expected to retire by Aug. 31. Any employees who accepts the incentive will not be able to seek employment at the university for at least five years. The exception to this would be those approved for temporary employment of up to .4 FTE at the discretion of the Office of the Provost.
