WSU President Kirk Schulz announced significant developments related to the system’s OneWSU initiative in an email to faculty and staff Tuesday.
The creation of a new Office of Strategy, Planning, and Analysis will enable WSU to bring additional focus, coordination and alignment to the university’s system planning.
“This new unit will split off personnel from the current WSU Office of the President to focus on leveraging institutional data and enhancing analytics to facilitate and support robust planning, knowledge discovery, and transparent decision-making across the WSU system.”
Chris Hoyt, the president’s chief of staff, will be taking on a dual role as vice president of strategy, planning and analysis in charge of the new department, effective Nov. 1.
Schulz also detailed structural changes coming to the leadership of the WSU Pullman campus:
- Provost and Executive Vice President Elizabeth Chilton is starting as the inaugural chancellor of WSU Pullman July 1, 2022
- New WSU Pullman vice chancellor roles for several administrators based on the campus
- An impending internal faculty search for WSU Pullman’s Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, slated to begin in early 2022.
