WSU welcomes students back to school for Fall 2019

Back to school activities for the Washington State University system kick off Saturday, Aug. 10 in Pullman with Move-In Day.

This year, Move-In Day, Week of Welcome, and a host of other activities, are presented by BECU, under a newly expanded partnership between the credit union and WSU. Highlights for the week in Pullman include the All Campus Picnic, Pep Rally, New Coug Photo, and Convocation. Visit the Week of Welcome website for a full list of Pullman events.

At WSU Vancouver, Week of Welcome kicks off on Monday, Aug. 19 with a “Wave the Flag” tradition. Faculty, staff and alumni wave Cougar flags as students enter the campus on the first day of school.

Other campus events include an ice cream social and a back-to-school barbecue on Aug. 21. A full listing of Vancouver events can be found online.

In northwest Washington, WSU Everett is hosting back to school activities starting Aug. 19. Events include a “Popsicles with Student Ambassadors on Aug. 20,” and an Involvement Fair on Aug. 22. More events can be found on the WSU Everett website.

In Spokane, the Health Sciences campus is hosting a New Student Orientation Thursday, Aug. 15. The College of Medicine and College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences are both holding White Coat Ceremonies on Friday, Aug. 16. More events can be found online.

At WSU Tri-Cities, an Involvement Fair on Wednesday, Aug. 21 will provide students information about on-campus resources and how to get involved in clubs and other activities. A free lunch will be provided.

There will also be an Instagram Student Resources Scavenger Hunt, Aug. 19 – 23. Throughout the week, the @wsutricities Instagram account will feature a range of clues that will lead students to a resource or program on campus. The first five students at each location will receive free WSU gear.
