Employees encouraged to give during holidays

PULLMAN – In this season of giving, WSU employees are encouraged to consider a gift to a nonprofit organization of their choice through the WSU Combined Fund Drive.

According to CFD campaign coordinators Laura Lahne and John Cory, an annual commitment of just $5 per week can help a food bank feed a family of four for seven weeks. That can be especially helpful in the wake of the economic downturn.

The CFD provides a convenient and secure way for state employees and retirees to contribute to nonprofit organizations.  There are more than 2,600 local, national and international nonprofit organizations to choose from.

Although the 2009 campaign will soon end, employees may start or continue giving throughout the year.  Contributions may be made online, through payroll deduction, via one-time pledge or with a check.
