PULLMAN – The 2009-2010 WSU Visiting Writer Series will host a double reading Monday, Oct. 12, in the CUE, Room 203. Readings will be done by the accomplished poets Kate Greenstreet and Linda Russo.
Greenstreet’s second book, “The Last 4 Things,” is just out from Ahsahta Press. Her first, “Case Sensitive,” was published by Ahsahta in 2006. She is also the author of three chapter books, most recently “This is Why I Hurt You” (Lame House press, 2008). Her new work is in current of forthcoming issues of Jubilat, Court Green, Volt, Fence and the Denver Quarterly.
Russo is a WSU Department of English faculty member and the author of two collections of poetry – “Mirth” (Chax Press, 2007) and “O Going Out” (Potes & Poets, 1999), and her poems have appeared in Bird Dog, Chicago Review, Colorado Review, Ecopoetics , Fence and other places. Several of her essays on Contemporary poets have been published, including “Precious, Rare, and Mundane,” which serves as the preface to Joanne Kyger’s “About Now: Collected Poems” (National Poetry Foundation, 2007).
Later this fall there will be two more readings: Margo Tamez (Nov. 12) and Sarah Vap (Dec. 3).
LandEscapes and the English Club will provide refreshments for every reading.
