Tri-Cities graduates 344 students

RICHLAND — WSU Tri-Cities will confer 344 diplomas in its commencement ceremony at 4 p.m. Friday, May 15, in the Toyota Center, 7016 W. Grandridge Blvd., Kennewick.
 
The ceremony kicks off the 20th Anniversary celebration of becoming a WSU campus.
 
About 225 students will participate in commencement. The class of 2009 includes 77 students receiving master’s degrees and 267 earning bachelor’s degrees.
 
WSU President Elson S. Floyd will preside, along with WSU Tri-Cities Chancellor Vicky L. Carwein
 
The keynote speaker is Rufus M. Friday, publisher and president of the Tri-City Herald and www.tricityherald.com, and a member of the WSU Tri-Cities Advisory Council. 
 
The ceremony also includes recognizing the WSU Tri-Cities Distinguished Alumni of the Year.
