Companies plan to recruit Oct. 7

PULLMAN — In spite of a struggling economy, a record number of companies will be recruiting future employees at this year’s WSU College of Engineering and Architecture Technical Career Fair, scheduled for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, in the Beasley Performing Arts Coliseum.

Representatives from more than 140 high-technology companies will be attending the fair, including many from throughout the Northwest, such as Avista Corporation, The Boeing Company, and Microsoft. Companies will also come from as far away as Alaska, Maryland, California, New York, Texas, and British Columbia, Canada. This is the 27th year of the CEA career fair.

“Employers in the engineering fields are looking for help in solving critical challenges in areas such as energy, the environment, sustainability and health,’’ said  Candis Claiborn, dean of the College of Engineering and Architecture. “Even in these challenging economic times, demand for our well-qualified students is higher than ever.’’

More information about the technical career fair, including a complete list of companies, is available at www.cea.wsu.edu/careerfair.
