Southside Cafe opens March 16

Pullman – After a $10.2 million renovation project, the Southside Café will open on March 16. The Opening Meal will be from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. 
 
This facility was remodled to better serve students, faculty, staff, and guests from the community.  It features exhibition style food preparation and service platforms as well as intimate, restaurant style seating arrangements. 
 
Other benefits of the remodel include food prepared “to-order,” fresher food, restaurant style products, greater variety, and extended hours of operation. 

The following options are available at the Southside Café:

• Crimson Bakeshop & Deli – featuring cakes, pies and cookies baked fresh daily and a self-service deli-bar
• Silo’s N’ Wraps – featuring fresh-baked artisan sandwiches and wraps, the signature platform at the Southside Café
• Big Cat Grille – featuring hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, French fries, and more
• Stonewall Pizza & Pasta – featuring pizzas, pastas, and Italian foods
• Field of Greens – featuring two salad bars, a salad exhibition platform, soup, and fresh bread
• Chef’s Creations – featuring breakfast, home-style entrées, international cuisine and a carvery.
 
Dining Services is also hosting the Grand Re-Opening of Flix Café and Market located on the ground level of the Southside Café. Flix Café and Market will open on March 17, 2008 at 9:30 a.m. and features a full-service market and espresso bar, two flat-screen televisions, a pool table, and more. Flix Café serves late-night meals from 7:30 p.m. until 1 a.m.
 
The two facilities normal hours of operation are as follows:
 
Southside Café:  7 a.m.– 7:30 p.m. M-F, 8:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. S-Su
Flix Café & Market: 9:30 a.m. – 1 a.m. M-F, 10:30 a.m. – 1 a.m. S-Su
As this new facility opens, Stephenson Dining Center, located in Stephenson Center, will close permanently on March 7, 2008 at 2 p.m.  The Towers Market and Stephenson Espresso Bar will remain open and operating normal hours.  Hillside Café’s Late Night also has new hours: 7:30 p.m. – 11 p.m. Monday – Sunday.
