Big Ten Senior award nominations due April 13

Faculty, staff, students and community members can nominate seniors for the Big Ten Senior awards, which will be presented at the Senior Barbeque on May 1 at the Lewis Alumni Centre.

The awards are given to the top male and female in five areas, including academics, athletics, campus involvement, community service and visual/performing arts.

Nominations are due by 5 p.m. April 13.  A nomination form can be found online at www.alumni.wsu.edu/bigten. Nominations may be submitted online, by fax to 335-3299, or mailed to campus zip 6150.

The Big Ten Senior awards, which originated between the 1910’s and early 1980’s, were a way of recognizing excellence in the senior class. The Student Alumni Connection, the student organization that sponsors the awards, aims to preserve the traditions of WSU and reinstated the awards in spring 2004.

The Student Alumni Connection is a registered student organization that works to promote student and alumni interaction and continue WSU traditions.

Questions about the nomination or award process can be directed to Patricia Devoe at 335-6901.
