WSU Cougar Pride Days 2006 awards presented

Pullman residents and WSU organizations, students, faculty, staff were honored April 4 for their participation and successes during Cougar Pride Days 2006. The fifth annual event, held March 22-April 4, involved beautification and clean up in the city of Pullman and on the WSU campus.

Cougar Pride Days 2006 award winners were:

CITY OF PULLMAN MAYOR’s AWARD
Whitman County Real Estate Association.
Honorable Mention to Palouse Clearwater Environmental Institute.

WSU President’s Awards
Residence Halls – Gannon-Goldsworthy.
Honorable Mention to Wilmer-Davis.

Student Clubs – Builders Without Borders and American Institute of Architecture Students.
Honorable Mentions to Environmental Science, Tau Beta Pi and American Society of Civil Engineers.

Building Groups – College of Education, for Cleveland Hall and Smith Gym.
Honorable Mentions to Wegner, Van Doren, Bustad and Clark.

Greek Community – Alpha Kappa Lambda.

Special Participation Recognition – Intercollegiate Athletics.

Total supplies used during Cougar Pride Days 2006 included 500 yards of red fir bark mulch, nine trees, 61 shrubs, 332 perennial flowers, 62 flats of annual flowers, two yards of potting soil, one yard of gravel and eight wine cask planters.
