Celebrate Ireland: images, music, stories, food

“An Irish Tale: From Cork to Clare and Back Again,” an Art a la Carte presentation featuring Alvah Street and Dan Maher, will be held at noon on Thursday, March 2, in CUB 123. The program will include a presentation of digital images Street took in Ireland last spring. Shown will be landscapes, castles, buildings, the St. Patrick’s Day parade in Cork and more. Mixed in with the images will be Irish music, poetry and stories.

Street is the event support services director for CUB. Maher, WSU Campus Involvement, is a folksinger/guitarist and host of Northwest Public Radio’s popular “Inland Folk” program.

Those attending may bring their lunches. Or, they can have a taste of Ireland through a buffet at $11.95 each. On the menu will be shepherd’s pie, colcannon (mashed potatoes and cabbage with butter and seasonings) and Dublin cod bake. For buffet reservations, contact Campus Involvement at 335-9667 or janafae@wsu.edu.
