WSU Tri-Cities to host open house about new building

Representatives of Washington State University, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, Bouten Construction and potential subcontractors will host a campus and community open house to preview construction details and provide additional insight on the Bioproducts, Sciences and Engineering Laboratory building.

The open house will be Thursday, Feb. 16 at 6 p.m. on the north Richland campus.  The informal session will take place in the hall adjacent to the East Building Auditorium.

The new building will be a $24-million research and teaching laboratory jointly promoted by WSU and PNNL. With 57,000 square feet of laboratories and offices, it will house activities required to research and develop the processes involved in bio–based product manufacture and biofuel.

Groundbreaking for the new facility is scheduled for mid–April.
