WSU’s Campus Architecture, Hidden Art Topic of Feb. 17 Lecture

PULLMAN, Wash. — Washington State University Art á la Carte, a brown-bag noontime lunch series, will present “Public Art and Private Encounters” with H. Clare Wiser, docent of the Museum of Art/WSU and professor emeritus of mathematics at WSU.

Wiser’s visual presentation will describe and illustrate both the obvious and hidden campus art and the architectural details of the Pullman campus. This is a walking tour without the walking and a “bet you didn’t notice” challenge.

The final spring Art á la Carte program will be Feb. 24 with Flora Mace and Joey Kirkpatrick as they discuss “On Art, Glass, and more…” They are renowned for their innovative work, from the large-scale blown-glass fruit and vegetable forms to their life-sized mixed media sculptures.

Art á la Carte lectures begin at noon in the Compton Union Building Cascade Room 123. All programs are free and open to the public.
