Through her art, Williams tackles issues of beauty, body image and media manipulation in current culture and contemporary history. She will talk about her satirical, tongue-in-cheek approach to art making and about how she combines vintage imagery with everything but the kitchen sink to get her message out.
The lecture is sponsored by the Office of Campus Involvement and the WSU Museum of Art.
Future Art a la Carte programs include a Feb. 17 lecture by H. Clare Wister, docent of the Museum of Art/WSU and professor emeritus of mathematics, who will present “Public Art and Private Encounters”; and a Feb. 24 lecture by Flora Mace and Joey Kirkpatrick as they discuss “On Art, Glass, and more…”
All Art á la Carte lectures begin at noon in the Compton Union Building Cascade Room 123. Admission is free and open to the public.
