PERS statements mailed; PERS 3 sessions planned

PERS statements are being delivered this week via campus mail. Watch for your statement in your campus mailbox. PERS Plans 1 and 2 will show years of service credit, contributions for the year and other important data. Please verify your date of birth, service credit and address.

Since Plan 3 members receive quarterly statements from the state Department of Retirement Systems’ contracted record keeper, ICMA Retirement Corporation, the Plan 3 annual statements provide only service credit information.

Information on the annual statement may be used to estimate your projected retirement benefit, with the help of the DRS online benefit estimator. It can be accessed at http://www.drs.wa.gov. If you want to retire in the next year, please schedule a 30-minute retirement counseling visit with Marie Weiss, benefit specialist, in early 2005. Contact her at mweiss@wsu.edu or 335-4580.

Bill McGrath, from ICMA, will be in Pullman Monday, Dec. 13, to address questions and concerns of those in PERS Plan 3, said Jan Rauk, associate director of Benefit Services. Groups of five to eight WSU employees will be helped in small groups to better understand their annual statements, so they should bring those statements to their session. To reserve a one-hour session, contact Rauk at jmrauk@wsu.edu or 335-2523.
