Phil Vassar to rock Beasley Coliseum

Up-and-coming country music superstar, Phil Vassar, performs at 7:30 p.m., May 1, at Beasley Coliseum, with special guest, Coltrain.

Vassar’s popularity began with his self-titled 2000 Arista Nashville debut. That album yielded the number-one single “Just Another Day in Paradise,” as well as five top-ten hits, including his latest, “This is God.” He has earned both CMA and ACM Awards nominations, culminating in his 2002 ACM win for Top New Male Vocalist. He also has shared stages with some of country music’s biggest names, like Tim McGraw, Faith Hill and Kenny Chesney.

A new era for the Institute for Shock Physics

WSU professor and former Los Alamos National Laboratory physicist Brian Jensen is the new director of the Institute for Shock Physics. He succeeds Yogendra Gupta, who led the program for 26 years.
