Guest Pianist to Perform Recital

PULLMAN, Wash.- Washington State University’s Visual, Performing and Literary Arts Committee will host a Feb. 20 piano recital by guest pianist Mayron K. Tsong.

The recital is set for 8 p.m. in Kimbrough Concert Hall. A masterclass with Dr. Tsong will also be offered from 1-2:30 p.m. Feb. 21 in Kimbrough Concert Hall. Both events are free and open to the public.

Tsong is an assistant professor of music at the University of Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. The proposed recital program includes pieces by Mozart, Chopin, Prokofiev and Ginastera. The program spans a wide range of time periods, and national and compositional styles that appeal to music and non-music majors.

Tsong has performed throughout the United States, Canada, Sweden, Switzerland, Russia and China. She also has studied with many renowned musicians and earned a doctorate while studying with John Perry at Rice University. She is chair of the piano department at the University of Lethbridge.
