Students Raise Scholarship Support

PULLMAN, Wash.–Sigma Iota hospitality club members at Washington State University raised more than $5,000 to help support a scholarship for hotel and restaurant administration students during its 14th Annual Winefest.
Several wines were named by participants as winners for the Dad’s Weekend event. First session winners were the 1993 Cabernet Sauvignon by Gordon Brothers, best overall wine; 1994 Chardonnay Reserve by Barnard Griffin, best white wine; and 1993 Cabernet Sauvignon by Gordon Brothers, best red wine.
Participants in the second session picked the 1995 Pinot Gris by Erath Vineyards as the best overall wine, 1996 Chardonnay by Chateau Ste. Michelle as the best white wine, and 1994 Apex Cabernet Sauvignon by Washington Hills Cellars as the best red wine.
