Undergraduate researchers – 59 from 37 universities including WSU – will share their summer work at the annual Summer Undergraduate Research Symposium for 2014 TODAY, Aug. 1, in the Smith CUE.
Working with top WSU professors and their teams on a variety of research projects, the students have spent on average 10 weeks at our university. They have investigated topics ranging from cherry genetics to shock wave responses to climate models, and much more.

Opening remarks will be by Shelley Pressley, director of undergraduate research and a welcome by William Andrefsky, dean of the WSU Graduate School.
The inaugural symposium keynote address, “Undergraduate Research and the Secret of Happiness,” will be delivered by M. Grant Norton, dean of the WSU Honors College and materials science engineering researcher.
