The Academic Success and Career Center (ASCC) invites you to its Open House from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Wed., Jan. 21 to showcase its remodeled facilities in Lighty 160-180 and its services.
“We have new space and a new look now to go along with our name change and newest services,” said Terese King, ASCC director. Refreshments will be served, and guests are eligible for gift cards.
A new, multi-purpose resource area is available to students in Lighty 180. In Lighty 160 across the hall, new facilities have been added for Student Employment services as well as office space for a new WSU representative for the Peace Corps.
New services added in fall include Academic Success Coaching, the Drop-in Center, and Student Employment. At the Open House, ASCC staff will be on hand to talk about all of the center’s robust suite of services, such as Career Expo, career and college success courses, centralized training and consulting services, academic advising to students between majors, peer in-person and online tutoring in most lower-division courses, career testing, skill-building and for-credit workshops, and mentoring for students in such programs as Washington State Opportunity Scholars and Governor’s Scholars.
ASCC staff, services, and facilities are from the former Center for Advising and Career Development (CACD), which was also a program in the Office of Undergraduate Education.
ASCC works to cultivate successful scholars and professionals by offering unique, no-cost services and programs to freshmen through seniors and graduates from every major. For more information, visit https://ASCC.wsu.edu.
