Ten Washington State University students will take the stage this week to share their thoughts and experiences related to sexual violence— a hot topic on college campuses across the nation. They will perform three special theatrical performances, Wednesday through Friday, March 25-27, in Daggy Hall’s Wadleigh Theatre.
Each performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. and admission is free.
The students are participating in The Performance Project, a WSU program that helps students gain life skills such as writing, public speaking, and building self-confidence through participation in theater. With many colleges and universities seeing an increase in the number of students reporting sexual assault, the topic is currently in the national spotlight. WSU being no exception, the students are excited to bring more focus on this difficult issue.
Some cast members will host an informational table on the Terrell Mall, Wednesday, March 25, 10 a.m-noon. Alternatives to Violence of the Palouse and WSU’s Green Dot Program will have tables in the theatre lobby before each show. Representatives from each organization will participate in a panel discussion at the conclusion of the performance.
