In accordance with the July 6, 2021, Emergency Proclamation 21‑10 Wildfires – Burn Ban issued by Governor Jay Inslee, outdoor burning is prohibited on the WSU Pullman campus.
The historic drought, abnormally high temperatures and dry conditions have led to high fire conditions. To preserve and maintain life, health, and property, WSU Pullman is prohibiting the use of:
- Charcoal grills and use of charcoal briquettes
- Campfires (wood- and gas-fueled)
- Bonfires
Liquid- and gas-fueled stoves over a non-flammable surface at least 5 feet from flammable vegetation are allowed.
The ban remains in effect until 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 31, 2021. The ban may be ended or extended if conditions warrant by WSU Fire & Safety or WSU Police.
