Washington State University Press will host its 32nd Annual Holiday Book Fair on Wednesday, Dec. 6, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Terrell Library Atrium on the Pullman campus. The fair highlights books published throughout the year and is open to everyone. Festivities include steep discounts of 30–50% and drawings for free books. Sale prices will be valid for phone and online orders using coupon code HBF2023 from Dec. 4–11.
Featured titles include “Boyhood Among the Woolies,” a rare look at life on a sheep ranch near Ritzville; “Coyote’s Swing,” a psychologist’s revelations on how the U.S. mental health system often fails Native Americans; “The Evergreen Collection,” two decades of captivating Washington State Magazine stories; and “Getting Elected is the Easy Part,” a Washington State senator’s no-nonsense guide to state government.
Tom Haig, author of “Global Nomad,” dove from cliffs, partied with sheiks, lived among Tibetan monks, and survived a tragic accident. “The Last Lookout on Dunn Peak” journeys back to three Idaho firespotting seasons; “Man of Treacherous Charm” reveals the unsettling story of a Washington Territory Supreme Court Justice; and “We Few, We Academic Sisters” discusses challenges faced by three trailblazing female professors with ties to WSU in the 1960s and 1970s.
