WSU employees can use tuition waivers for Global Campus courses this summer

For Summer Session 2021, qualifying Washington State University employees will once again be able to use their tuition waiver benefit for WSU Global Campus courses in addition to courses offered through the university’s five other campuses.

The decision to allow faculty and staff to use tuition waivers for Global Campus summer courses was made to make the employee education benefit more widely available while there are still very few courses being taught face-to-face on campuses. The temporary policy change only applies to the 2021 Summer Session.

The Summer Session tuition waiver benefit allows eligible WSU employees to take up to four credits for a $5 administration fee, plus any special course fees, laboratory fees, late registration charges, or late fee payment charges.

The employee tuition waiver benefit cannot be used for independent study courses, internships, tutorials, private lessons, or practicums. Nor can it be used for courses associated with the online MBA program, the Engineering and Technology Management program, or any of the 3-week Intersession courses.

WSU employees can request to use their summer tuition benefit by submitting the new online Summer Educational Benefit Request form.

Completed forms will be processed by the Summer Session office on the first day of class. Enrollment is based on availability of space in the course.
