WSU Email Sender Registry coming soon

WSU is implementing Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting & Conformance (DMARC) protections for all email services, set to deploy on September 1st.

DMARC is a trusted, industry-standard service that combines authentication technology features such as DomainKeys Identified Message (DKIM) and Sender Policy Framework (SPF), to protect WSU sender’s identity and ensures WSU emails are reliably and securely delivered.

While most WSU employees and students will see no change in their email activity, technical support staff who manage services that send email, or contract services that send email, will need to register their services with Information Technology Services (ITS).

Once deployed, WSU will change our default DMARC record to reject. If your service or application is sending mail from wsu.edu or a subdomain and has not been registered and configured prior to Sept. 1, the mail from that service or application will start to be rejected.

If your services will be affected by this change, please work with ITS to prepare for the implementation of DMARC. DMARC can be configured for SaaS products such as sendgrid or mailchimp, any on premises application or departmental email service sending email, a sender using a wsu.edu domain or subdomain (i.e. alias@wsu.edu or alias@subdomain.wsu.edu). Emails sent through Office 365, Smtp.wsu.edu, Lists.wsu.edu will not be affected by this change.

To register your service with ITS please complete the form below. Filling out this form may require that you gather information from your application vendor, service provider, or on-premises application or email service.
