WSU email online archive begins March 6

Effective March 6, WSU will begin archiving all emails older than six months to an online archive. All emails older than six months will be archived daily thereafter. This process will occur automatically for faculty, staff, affiliates, students, and alumni.

The online archive will be easily accessible in Outlook for Windows, Outlook for Mac, Outlook on the Web, and Outlook for iOS and Android.

Access to the online archive may not be immediate on March 6, as Outlook may require up to 30 days to create the new mailbox and transfer data. However, Outlook will remain fully functional during this transition.

In May 2026, WSU will implement additional storage changes that will reduce the available storage capacity for Outlook, OneDrive, Teams, and SharePoint. Storage quotas will be shared as soon as they are finalized. To minimize any potential service disruptions in May 2026, WSU encourages users to begin reducing Microsoft cloud-based storage usage now.

Please visit the WSU Email Online Archive resource page to learn more about this scheduled email change.

Crimson Service Desk is available at crimsonservicedesk@wsu.edu or 509-335-4357 for online archive or general email support.
