Being a Coug is a privilege; being civically engaged is a responsibility; being the change is a commitment. Though the WSU Center for Civic Engagement (CCE) is committed to making change year round, during the week of April 16-22, the CCE recognizes the efforts of WSU students, faculty, staff, and community members who strive to improve our community. Special events throughout the week that are open to the public include two student and alumni service projects on April 17 and April 19, Leadership and Engagement Awards of Distinction (LEAD) featuring the President’s Award for Leadership on April 18, a screening of the documentary “Before the Flood” on April 19, a workshop on healthy relationships on April 20, and Palouse-Clearwater Environmental Institute’s annual Earth Day stream cleanup on April 22.
Civic Engagement Week is the CCE’s time to thank those civically engaged Cougs and friends for all they have done and will do to make the world a better place and to inspire those who are just getting started. To learn more about Civic Engagement Week, visit cce.wsu.edu/cew.
