Wednesday: Professors to share student engagement techniques

Three WSU professors will discuss their methods for engaging students during a Jan. 20 faculty-led workshop.

WSU Clinical Associate Psychology Professor Dee Posey and Associate Professor William B. Davis have each found success by restructuring large courses to include elements of the “flipped classroom” approach. WSU Assistant Professor David Makin uses a more traditional format, but has developed classroom techniques that create Socratic-type discussions, even in larger courses.

The workshop is 12:10 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, in CUE 518, and will also be live-streamed. Lunch will be provided. Please register here.

This workshop series is sponsored by the WSU Provost’s Office, WSU Teaching Academy and WSU Learning Innovations.
