University-wide availability of Microsoft OneDrive and Office 365 ProPlus starting Dec. 19

As part of WSU’s Enterprise License Agreement with Microsoft, a number of Microsoft’s “cloud” products, managed remotely on servers owned by Microsoft, will be made available to current students, faculty, and staff at no additional charge.

Many Information Technology (IT) products and services you use every day are a part of the cloud – everything from Web-based email to mobile banking and online photo storage. Because this IT infrastructure is located online or “in the cloud,” you can access it from virtually anywhere, at any time, from any device, such as from a PC/Mac, tablet, smartphone that has an Internet connection.

On December 19, 2016, Information Technology Services will enable access to the following Microsoft cloud products:

  1. OneDrive for Business – Similar in functionality to Dropbox or Google Drive, OneDrive for Business will make available to current students, faculty and staff one terabyte (1TB) of cloud storage. Files stored on OneDrive can be accessed and synchronized by a variety of devices (computers, tablets, smartphones) and web browsers securely over the Internet from anywhere.
  2. Office 365 ProPlus – This cloud version of Office 2016 offers similar features and functionality to the version you can install on your PC or Mac, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. In addition, downloadable versions are available that can be installed locally on both personal computers (PC and Mac) that run the iOS and Android environments.

Further information is available at the following web site:

Questions or assistance with installation of these products on your office computer can be directed to your local IT department’s Help Desk, or the CougTech Help Desk at 509-335-4357 or cougtech@wsu.edu.
