University records retention schedule update

The university records retention schedule is revised and reformatted. The following summarizes the changes made:

  • Added new records series from the state general records retention schedule that apply to WSU;
  • Updated some records series titles, descriptions, and/or retention periods as requested by WSU departments or in accordance with changes to the state general schedule.
  • Reformatted the university records retention schedule tables to improve readability.
  • Replaced the Excel version of the university schedule with a Word document that may be used to copy and paste information to create an optional in-house records retention schedule.

Links to the revised schedule, a summary of all the changes, and the Word version of the schedule, along with other records management information, are available at Records Retention and Disposition on the Polices, Records, and Forms website.

The Notices and Announcements section is provided as a service to the WSU community for sharing events such as lectures, trainings, and other highly transactional types of information related to the university experience. Information provided and opinions expressed may not reflect the understanding or opinion of WSU. Accuracy of the information presented is the responsibility of those who submitted it. The self-uploaded posts are reviewed for compliance with state statutes and ethics guidelines but are not edited for spelling, grammar, or clarity.
