Two new Zoom features for WSU users

The Zoom support team at Information Technology Services (ITS) is excited to share the following two feature updates, both of which are available now to all WSU Zoom users.

Create Exceptions for Zoom Authentication

Meeting hosts can now make exceptions for attendees who do not have Zoom accounts and thus cannot authenticate as usual into WSU Zoom meetings. To learn how to do this, please visit this WSU Knowledge Base article. (Please note: Currently, this new feature can only be configured via wsu.zoom.us, not within the Zoom desktop application or Outlook add-In.)

Set “Join before host” Time Limits

Meeting hosts can now allocate the timeframe during which meeting participants can join before the host, as shown below. To learn more about this new security feature, please visit this Zoom support article.

If you have any other questions or concerns, please contact the WSU Zoom support team at zoom.support@wsu.edu.

The Notices and Announcements section is provided as a service to the WSU community for sharing events such as lectures, trainings, and other highly transactional types of information related to the university experience. Information provided and opinions expressed may not reflect the understanding or opinion of WSU. Accuracy of the information presented is the responsibility of those who submitted it. The self-uploaded posts are reviewed for compliance with state statutes and ethics guidelines but are not edited for spelling, grammar, or clarity.
