TRIO SSS graduate staff intern opening

TRIO Student Support Services is currently seeking a graduate staff intern for the upcoming academic year. This position will be responsible for assisting in developing and implementing strategies to retain and graduate program participants; main focus will be with the Guidance Referral for Advanced Degrees (GRAD) program in development of, presentations for, and recruitment of SSS participants with graduate school information and application process; in general provide comprehensive needs assessments, academic and non- academic support; counseling, academic advising, tutoring services; monitor and track individual progress of program participants; initiate and maintain data and student files, receive and review academic documents; develop  individual  academic  plans;  participate  in outreach efforts; have extensive involvement with staff and students; stay current in professional development activities as appropriate to professional role; utilized working knowledge of policies, principles and procedures of TRIO federal regulations, and produce and/or assist in the production of evaluation reports.

This is a nine-month, half-time, (20 hours per week) position.  Applicants with the ability to stay for at least two years are preferred and students must be a Washington resident, work-study eligible, and a full-time student enrolled in a WSU Master’s or Ph.D.
