Today! Tabletop Letterpress Printing Demonstration

On Wednesday October 13, from 2-4 p.m. join representatives from the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art WSU (JSMA) and WSU’s Manuscripts, Archives, and Special Collections (MASC) for an introduction to MASC’s recently acquired tabletop letterpress. Staff will be on-hand to discuss the history of letterpress printing, provide background on our Kelsey Victor 8 x 10 platen press, and assist attendees in practicing laying type and printing sample formes (the letterpress term for lines of type that are ready to be printed). All are welcome to attend, and we look forward to seeing you there! This event will take place in the museum’s Pavilion gallery and masks are required.
