‘Thriving Authentically: Ascending Industry as BIPOC’ happening on March 22

For the third year, the Academic Success and Career Center and Office of Outreach and Education at WSU will bring back “Thriving Authentically: Ascending Industry as a Black, Indigenous, Person of Color,” happening on Wednesday, March 22, 4–5:30 p.m., virtually on Zoom.

The program will feature panelists that identify as BIPOC and share their stories on how they cultivated their professional and cultural identities in their industries. The event will be moderated by WSU Alumnus Gary Barquet, who has supported this event since 2020. Mr. Barquet shared in past conversations that being able to help Cougs through this program energizes his passion for creating spaces for learning.

Currently, we have the following panelists and companies attending:

  • Senait Kidane – Regional Operations Manager Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council Member at Beacon Building Products
  • Jonathan Frazier – Director of General Accounting at PACCAR
  • Simi Daniels Dalyop – Treasury Analyst at JP Morgan Chase
  • Katrina Rojas – PR & Marketing Account Coordinator at The Castle Group and founder of SANAMOR

This 90-minute event is always full of energy, new networking connections, and information on navigating your early career. We will start with some guided questions for each panelist and then open the floor and allow attendees to connect. Staff, faculty, students, and all WSU campuses are invited to attend.
