The Gene and Linda Voiland School of Chemical Engineering and Bioengineering department at Washington State University is pleased to invite you to our upcoming seminar on Monday, October 19, at 12:10 p.m. in Todd 311.

Dr. Shulin Chen is a Professor of Biological Systems Engineering and Adjunct Professor of the Gene and Linda Voiland School of Chemical Engineering and Bioengineering at Washington State University. He received his BS and MS training in Agricultural Engineering in China and PhD in Biological and Environmental Engineering from Cornell University in 1991. Dr. Chen’s expertise is industrial biosystems engineering applications in biorefinery. Dr. Chen’s current interests focus on harnessing natural and synthetic biological systems for producing biochemical and biofuels. More specific research topics include radical-based process for processing lignocellulose, algae culture and conversion, cell factories, anaerobic digestion platform, and mathematical modeling. Dr. Chen has published 270 refereed journal papers and co-authored 30 patent applications.
