The Center for Community Standards (CCS) invites students, staff, and faculty to be members of WSU’s hearing boards. Staff and faculty can also be student conduct advisors. Both positions are integral to CCS’ mission of student accountability to support community well-being and provide a voice in the student conduct process, which is designed to support community safety, uphold student rights and responsibilities, and support students’ educational journey. Hearing board member duties:
- Formal Hearing: Act as a liaison between parties to facilitate conversations in cases that might result in expulsion.
- Community Accountability Board: Make decisions in cases that might result in suspension.
- University Appeals Board: Listen to appeals and make decisions in cases appealed by students (non-academic integrity only).
- Academic Integrity Hearing Board: Listen to appeals and make decisions in cases appealed by a student (academic integrity only).
Conduct advisor duties:
- A neutral third party that understands the conduct system and can answer student questions.
- Attend conduct officer hearings to support the student, if asked by the student to attend.
