System workshop on race, privilege, identity Oct. 17

As part of LGBTQ+ History Month, the Gender Identity/Expression and Sexual Orientation Resource Center (GIESORC) is hosting a system-wide virtual workshop called A Conversation for Change: Addressing Racism in Our Communities. The workshop will be held on Saturday, Oct. 17 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

All WSU students, faculty, and staff are welcome to attend. Register at this link.

The workshop will examine the relationship between race, privilege, and identity, including sexuality and gender. Workshop facilitator Dr. Lisa Guerrero, Professor of Comparative Ethnic Studies and American Studies and Culture, will lead an in-depth discussion on race, privilege, and identity and how they operate in systems. The workshop will close with a conversation about allyship and how to put what you’ve learned into action.
