Supply Management Services merges with Facilities Services

Supply Management Services (SMS), comprised of Central Receiving & Delivery and University Stores, has merged with Facilities Services. While this will not immediately change the services that are supplied to the University, there will be some adjustments made over time.  The synergies and alignment of Supply Management Services with Facilities Services was a great opportunity to increase efficiencies, increase value-added activity, focus more on critical stock that needs to be on hand for Facilities and research, increase focus on logistics and just in time inventory practices; all while reducing some non-value added stock and overhead expenses.  SMS will be reaching out campus clients that will be impacted to outline the effects and timeline of that transition so that there is ample time for feedback before changes are implemented.
