The WSU community is invited to talk to student researchers from 42 universities — including WSU — at the 2024 Summer Undergraduate Research Symposium this Friday, Aug. 2, from 10 a.m.–1 p.m. in the Smith CUE Atrium on the Pullman campus. The event is open and free to all.
This summer, nearly 70 students from 21 states took part in 10-week programs across many STEM and non-STEM disciplines. They worked in partnership with mentoring faculty and graduate students on a wide variety of projects. Results of their efforts and results will be depicted on research posters that the students will share with guests at the annual symposium.
A keynote address, “Exploring the Materials World,” will be delivered at 9 a.m. in CUE 203 by Scott Beckman, associate professor and acting director of the Materials Science and Engineering Program. Guests are welcome.
Students in Institute of Biological Chemistry programs led by Andrei Smertenko, Matt Peck, and Laura Bartley will be judged and top presenters will receive awards.
