Student Financial Services Invites you to Celebrate Communications Center Anniversary

Student Financial Services (SFS) would like to invite the entire WSU community to come celebrate the one year anniversary of WSU’s own internal Communications Center on Friday, April 10 at 2 p.m. in Lighty Student Services, Room 380.

The SFS Communications Center was launched last year to provide personalized customer service to WSU students and their families in order to meet their immediate financial aid needs. In its first year of operation, the Communications Center (which serves all WSU campuses) answered nearly 90,000 customer phone calls and processed almost 16,000 emails.

The Communications Center, staffed by fourteen Communication Representatives, is located in the heart of the Student Financial Services office located in Lighty Student Services and helps WSU students and their families Monday through Friday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. The operation officially opened its doors on April 7, 2014.

As Assistant Vice President of Student Financial Services, Brian Dixon, shared “on the year anniversary of our Communications Center, we are better positioned and more committed to our goal to provide ‘Faster, Friendlier, and Easier’ access to students seeking financial assistance in funding their college education at WSU.”

The SFS Communications Center is part of SFS’s long term vision to establish WSU as a leader in modern financial aid services that are personalized yet convenient, online, accessible, and mobile friendly.  “The financial aid process can be confusing and intimidating for many students and families. Our ultra-modern Communications Center in Student Financial Services celebrates a 125 year commitment to student success and innovation at Washington State University,” Brian Dixon.

Celebration festivities will include refreshments and a brief appreciation ceremony for those who invested time and effort in the launch of the SFS Communications Center.  To contact, Student Financial Services, call 509-335-9711, email at finaid@wsu.edu or follow us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
