YOU ARE INVITED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 2016 STUDENT EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR RECOGNITION PROGRAM!
The Student Employee of the Year (SEOTY) award is organized by the Western Association of Student Employment Administrators (WASEA) as part of National Student Employment Week each April. This is an opportunity for all on-campus employers to recognize the outstanding contributions and achievements of students who work while attending school in universities nationwide. One student will be chosen as the Student Employee of the Year from Washington State University by the SEOTY Selection Committee, and that winner will proceed to be considered for the state-wide Student Employee of the Year title, and could possibly move forward in national recognition.
The Student Employee of the Year award is a way for WSU to recognize our outstanding student employees. This opportunity to nominate is available to any WSU on-campus department who employs any current student. Employers can nominate all student employees (whom they currently directly supervise) who have exhibited outstanding work performance and who have worked at least part-time for 6 months or full-time for 3 months since July 1, 2015. Employers can nominate as many students as they see fit for the award.
Employers must email the nomination form (attached) and narrative to studentjobs@wsu.edu no later than February 23, 2016. Any nomination submitted after February 23, 2016 will not be considered for the award. The nomination form requires basic information about the student such as mailing address, class level, etc. The narrative is a short description of why you feel your student employee should win. This could include any sort of accomplishments that student has exhibited on the job. The nomination form (attached) has more information regarding the narrative. Click here to down nomination form.
Here are a few important dates to remember for the Student Employee of the Year program:
- February 23, 2016: Nomination forms are due via e-mail to: studentjobs@wsu.edu
- March 2, 2016: WSU Student Employee of the Year will be selected by the SEOTY Selection Committee
- April 11-15, 2016: Winner recognized during National Student Employment Week
