The week of Nov. 17-23, is National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week (NHHAW), and the WSU Center for Civic Engagement (CCE) invites Global Campus and branch campus students, faculty, staff and community members to participate in this week’s events. The purpose of this awareness week is to educate students and others about the current state of poverty in our communities and around the world. Throughout NHHAW, the CCE in partnership with ASWSU Global and the WSU Alumni Association King County Chapter will be holding a variety of events throughout Washington and Oregon.
This year, ASWSU Global has partnered with the CCE to hold two special service projects on Saturday, Nov. 23, in Olympia, WA and Seattle, WA. Other service projects are available throughout Washington and Oregon during the week as well. Additionally, on Wednesday, Nov. 20, the CCE will hold a Public Forum Conversation titled One in Six: Students Living in Poverty. This event will be live streamed and chat enabled for students at a distance. Lastly, during the Nov. 16 and Nov. 23 Cougar football games, the WSU Alumni Association King County Chapter will hold a food and supplies drive during their game watch parties.
