The second series of “Under the Skin: An Introspective Look at the Self”- Spring 2017, is an effort to build a critical and dialogical community about the politics of identity. Under the Skin is a series of workshops where collaborators with diverse ethnic backgrounds, academic perspectives, spiritual processes, activism and community work experiences guide us through dialogues, creation, and healing. This semester we will have the opportunity to learn from Chicana/o scholar activists, Hinduism, US Native Americans, and Yucatecan Indigenous communities. Values of social justice, spiritual activism, and equity, among others, inform our dialogues and processes. Invited to participate on Thursdays 1-3 p.m. at Mestizo Center- Cleveland Hall 121.
