Why Simulation Training Matters
Just like pilots train in flight simulators before flying real passengers, our veterinary students practice on lifelike models and virtual patients before treating real animals, supporting real farmers and pet owners, and safeguarding the real health of our communities.
This program provides a safe learning environment where students can:
- Perfect surgical techniques on realistic models
- Practice emergency procedures without risk
- Build confidence through hands-on experience
- Learn from mistakes without consequences to real patients
- Ensure the safety and welfare of their future patients
WSU has the first and only veterinary program globally accredited by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare — the same organization that sets standards for human medical simulation.
Kick off your Apple Cup weekend with us!
