Side Street Exhibition

WSU Fine Arts Locker Gallery presents Side Street, a collection of Instagram images exploring everyday observations along urban spaces. The exhibition is curated by recent WSU Master of Fine Arts graduate, Krista Brand, and features fourteen artists across five continents, connected only through social media. Side Street considers the possibility of the extraordinary in the ordinary, the presence/absence of the figure, and social media sharing as community art practice. This exhibition bridges between the 2017-18 Fine Arts programming theme of ‘Shifting Landscapes’ and the 2018-19 theme of ‘The Body: Power, Meaning & Representation in Contemporary Art.’

Side Street is on view from July 20-August 24, 2018. Closing Reception on Thursday, August 23, at 4:30 p.m.
