Shipping laptops, iPads or tablets

If you are forwarding or shipping a package received by WSU, we are liable for all aspects of that shipment. If that package has a Dangerous Good/Hazardous material label or marking on it, a trained shipper must process that package.

An example would be, you ordered an iPad and now need to forward that iPad to a student or researcher out of town. If this package contains a lithium ion battery, you must contact a trained Dangerous Good/Hazardous Material shipper to process that shipment. Unless you are trained, you can not legally ship any items deemed to be a Dangerous Good/Hazardous Material. This includes all electronics containing lithium ion batteries, dry ice, laboratory chemicals, biological materials, etc. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Dangerous Good/Hazardous Material shipping coordinator at (509) 432-3869.
