School of Design and Construction exhibit work from “Urban Classroom” Study Tour

This fall, third-year architecture students from the School of Design and Construction, enrolled in Arch 309 (Modern Architecture and Theory), participated in a study tour of the San Francisco Bay area. Students spent a week in October exploring the region under the guidance of Professors Phil Gruen and Ayad Rahmani, and Academic Coordinator Jaime Rice.

Their “urban classroom” assignment involved giving public presentations in groups of three at the various destinations during the tour. Upon returning from the tour,  students were asked to create a two-board composition that would relay and expand on those presentations.

Please join us for the opening reception of this exhibit on Wednesday, October 30th at 4:30 p.m. in the Carpenter Hall main floor gallery.
