Scholarship Scam Targets Perspective International Students

Recently the Washington State University (WSU) Office of International Programs has become aware of an email scam in which the addressee was notified that he/she has been awarded a scholarship to attend WSU. This email requested the recipient to donate money to the University in order to help fund future scholars and looked like it was sent from the international email address used by the Office of International Programs, Undergraduate Admissions Dept.

Neither the email or any letter with a similar message or request is from WSU. If you or anyone you know is a recipient of such an email or letter, we request that you contact WSU Office of International Programs right away or the WSU Police Department. For more information, please go to ip.wsu.edu/apply/home.html.
