Rural Journalism Education Roundtable & Student Work Showcase

The Journalism & Media Production department is hosting two events on Friday, April 26, to summarize a yearlong grant project on rural reporting, celebrate excellent student work, and discuss opportunities for future collaborations. Anyone interested in rural news coverage or journalism education is welcome to attend.

2-3 p.m. Rural Journalism Education Roundtable, Goertzen 218/220

Roundtable discussion with community members and local news professionals to review successes and challenges of the grant project, and discuss ideas and possible collaborations for future projects related to teaching rural journalism and serving communities in the region. 3-4 p.m. Student Work Showcase and celebration, Goertzen 21

Fast-paced, student-led showcase event to show award-winning and top journalism and media production work from this past year, including the Rural Reporting Plunge and Backpack Journalism programs. Everyone is welcome!
