Research Exchange Workshop at the CDSC with Talea Anderson

Should you share your work online?

Hosts of tools now promise to help academics share their research online—Academia.edu, ResearchGate, Google Scholar, Mendeley, WordPress, as well as institutional solutions. In this workshop we’ll consider the strengths and weaknesses of these various tools in terms of permanence, privacy, and visibility. After some general discussion, we’ll focus on services that the library provides for sharing scholarly work—specifically, Research Exchange, a digital archive for WSU research and educational materials. We’ll walk through the process of posting research online with practical tips on how to check copyright, how to describe your work, and how to manage your own collection in the repository.

Friday, January 29, 2-3:30 p.m. CDSC, 4th floor Holland Libraries
